Rajiv comes for Devyani

Next day, Manikyam was ready to go to the office. Devyani was also ready.

Dhanalaxmi approached her and touched her forehead. “You still have fever. You take rest today.”

Manikyam said, “Your mother is saying the truth. You take rest.”

He looked at his wife. “Take her to the doctor.”

Naga and Tirupati phoned to Manikyam at 4pm from the resort.

Naga said, “Manikyam, we are still at the resort. You come and give us the remaining amount.”

Manikyam got very angry. “I will not give a single rupee more for what you have done.”

Naga was angry. “What are you saying? You still don’t know me.”

Tirupati took the phone. “As soon as you got the girl, you are trying to escape without paying. I am warning you, if you don’t come in one hour’s time…”

Manikyam got angry. “Do whatever you want. I will not pay a single rupee more.”

Tirupati was angry. “Then give us back the girl.”

“I will do nothing of that kind. You will not get that girl in this whole life.”

He cut off the phone. Tirupati tried again and again. But the phone was switched off.

Naga said angrily, “These cinema people are all like that.”

Tirupati said, “You wait here only. I will make him come and give the amount by himself. Just watch.”

Tirupati and Rajiv got down from the car at Manikyam’s house. Dhanalaxmi was surprised to see them. “Whom do you want to meet?”

Tirupati said, “We want to talk to you, madam.”

Dhanalaxmi was surprised. “Come in.”

They entered the house and sat down.

Tirupati pointed to Rajiv. “This is Rajiv. He is just married.”

Dhanalaxmi asked, “Is it? What is it to do with me?”

“Madam, your husband, who is a cinema producer, has trapped his wife promising her a role in his film. He has taken her away without informing us.”

Dhanalaxmi was shocked. Tirupati showed the photo album. Dhanalaxmi went through the photos. “Is this your wife?”

Rajiv nodded sadly. “Yes madam.”

Dhanalaxmi got angry. “Badmash! I was feeling pity for her thinking that she is like my daughter. I think she is planning to be my competitor. She is breaking my house.”

She became ferocious. “You wait. I will bring her.”

Dhanalaxmi climbed up the stairs at high speed. Rajiv and Tirupati smiled at each other.

Dhanalaxmi entered the room and shouted at Devyani. “Badmash! You think you can fool me?”

Devyani was shocked.

Dhanalaxmi showed her the marriage photo. “Who is this boy?”

Devyani remained silent. Dhanalaxmi pulled her down the stairs by her hair. Devyani fell down the stairs. She got up. Dhanalaxmi approached her and slapped her.

Devyani cried with pain. “Amma.”

Dhanalaxmi shouted angrily, “Don’t call me amma. I am not a mother to a bitch like you.”

She pointed to Rajiv. “Tell me who this fellow is.”

Devyani looked at Rajiv feebly.

Dhanalaxmi asked, “Why are you silent? He is your husband, isn’t it? You want to become a film star, is it?”

Devyani remembered Manikyam telling her in the car not to tell anything to his wife. She remained silent. Dhanalaxmi turned to the men. “Take her.”

Devyani stood like a statue. Dhanalaxmi pushed her hard. Devyani fell into her husband’s arms. He took her out of the house.

Dhanalaxmi went up the stairs and brought Devyani’s suitcase. She threw it at them. Rajiv put the suitcase into the car. “Thank you very much, madam. I got my wife back.”

Tirupati said, “Thanks madam.”

Dhanalaxmi said, “It is difficult to control a woman who has missed her step. I don’t know what you will do.”
