23. Shivaram and Manohar join hands

CHAPTER 23

Shivaram and Manohar join hands

As soon as the cabinet meeting was over, Shivaram approached Manohar.
“Sir, I want to talk to you.”

“Ok. Come; let us go home in my car.”

They both get into Manohar’s car and left.

On reaching Manhar’s house, Shivaram and Manohar entered the hall and sat down.

Manohar said, “You asked a very good question to the CM in the cabinet meeting.”

Shivaram laughed. “I am nothing in front of you. You have 20 years of experience in the political field. In fact, you have a good chance of becoming the next CM.”

Manohar was very happy. He laughed. “I am too old now. The party has already branded me as a fraction leader. Now my son is grown up. I am going to give him a chance to become the MLA and I myself will become MP.”

Shivaramin said happily, “I am very happy to hear that. You have seen my daughter a few days back at Bhaskaraiah’s house, haven’t you?”

Manohar was excited. “Are you planning to bring her into politics?”

Shivaram laughed. “No. I don’t have any such plans. She has just completed M.A.”

Suddenly Naga entered the hall. Shivaram looked at Naga from top to bottom and then he again looked at Manohar. “I am planning to get my daughter married.”

Manohar said, “Yes. I have heard that she will be marrying Bhaskaraiah’s son Shivayya.”

Shivaram became serious. “No. How can I give her to that play boy?”

Manohar was surprised. “But Bhaskaraiah has mentioned many times that he will get his son married to her.”

Shivaram became serious. “He is an uneducated brute. A tough guy. I don’t want to give my daughter to him.”

Naga said, “Yes. That youth organization of his is creating a lot of trouble for us.”

Shivaram looked at Naga and then looked at Manohar. “Actually, I was thinking that it would be very nice to have her marry your son. It will also strengthen our relationship.”

Manohar was surprised. Naga’s face flashed. They remained silent for a while.

Shivaram asked, “What are you thinking?”

Manohar laughed. “I will be most happy.”
He looked at his son. “What do you say, Naga?”

Naga said, “I have seen her, papa. If you elders decide, I have no objection.”

Manohar shook hands with Shivaram. “You can come with your family to our house again for further talks.”
