52. Rajiv meets Manikyam at the resort

CHAPTER 52
Rajiv meets Manikyam at the resort

Devyani was packing the things.

Rajiv said, “Just pack your saris and ornaments in one suitcase. My office attendees will send rest of the things by transport.”

Devyani nodded.

Rajiv was packing his things into a small bag. “We will stay at the resort in the outskirt of the city tonight. Tomorrow we will catch the train.”

Devyani asked, “Why can’t we stay here tonight?”

Rajiv said, “We will enjoy the night at the resort.”

**********************************************

Devyani and Rajiv reached the resort late at night. Rajiv did namaskara to the resort manager and took Devyani to an upstairs room.

Devyani kept admiring the beautiful place. “This place is very beautiful.”

“Yes. I wanted to spend the 1st night here. No problem. We can enjoy tonight.”

Devyani opened the tiffin with puliogare.

Rajiv looked at it happily. “You prepare everything so well. Your father has trained you very well.”

Devyani laughed. They enjoyed the puliogare. Suddenly they heard the sound of car.

Rajiv went to the window and looked down. His cell rang. “Yes. I am ready. I will be down in half an hour.”

Devyani looked at him questioningly. “Who was it?”

“Somebody from my office. I will be back soon.”

Naga, Tirupati Rao and Manikyam were sitting at a table. They were already half drunk. Rajiv came and did namaskara to Tirupati Rao.
Tirupati asked, “Is the party ready?”

Rajiv nodded. “Yes sir. I have done everything as you told me.”

Tirupati looked at Manikyam. “Whether you take cinema or get married to her, we don’t care. The party is ready.”

Manikyam was swinging due to the drink. “I must see her first.”

Naga said, “You clear the amount and then see the party.”

Manikyam removed 5 lakhs from his pocket. “I have already given 10 lakhs. Now I am giving 5 lakhs. I will give the balance amount tomorrow.”

Tirupati looked at Rajiv. “You acted very well. But how come you did not shine in cinema?”

Rajiv said sadly, “What to do sir? It is not written in my fate.”

Manikyam looked at Rajiv closely.  “I think I have seen you somewhere. You are junior artist, aren’t you? I never knew that you do such type of jobs.”

Rajiv said, “Yes. I am junior artist, Akbar. I have been doing small portions. But because of this great man I got some good money. Now my wife and I can start some business.”
