Shivayya is busy with elections

Panchayath Elections were declared in the State. The news was announced on TV.

Party meeting was going on.

CM said, “In this Panchayat election our party should win with full majority. Under the leadership of the senior most minister, Manohar we are hoping to get full majority in our area and Shivaram will work as his right hand to get us a full majority in his area. They can select party candidates themselves to ensure full success.”

Manohar said, “As always, this time too we are sure of winning in the elections with full majority. The opposition my put up a strong fight but they cannot challenge our money power and muscle power or do rigging like us.”

Shivayya was conducting a meeting. Many people have gathered.

Shivayya said, “I have thought over what your suggestions. We shall elect our own candidate for this Panchayat election.”

All clapped.

Shivayya continued, “We will select a candidate who is very truthful, sincere and honest. We shall select two jillas where our organization is most powerful for the experiment. Whoever wins has to walk on the Gandhi marg and serve the people. If we work together and do not allow them to use muscle power, money power or rigging, we can make our candidate win. Gandhi marg will be used for the development of the villages and Subash marg will be used to eliminate the criminals.”

Shivayya made Naga’s barber as the candidate opposite to Naga.

Shivayya went to the villages in his jeep and gave speeches. Shivayya said, “Do not allow anyone to do rigging. Don’t worry. Our youth force was there to protect you.”

All shouted and cheered.

Naga went in a procession and applied for the MPP seat.

Naga said to Manohar, “That Shivayya has put a flag in our village. He has made my own barber as my opposite candidate.”

Manohar was shocked. “I had never dreamt that he will grow so strong and come to my compound to twist his mustache. In 20 years of my service, there has been no one in this jilla to challenge me.”

Suddenly the phone rang. Naga took the phone and then passed it to his father.

“Appa, Shivaram was on the phone”

Shivaram asked, “Are you holding jilla tour from tomorrow?”

Manohar said angrily, “What jilla tour? That fellow has tied me in my own village. He has come to my village and made my barber stand against my son.”

Shivaram said, “I phoned to tell you that only. In my village, I have made my brother a candidate. That Shivayya has selected a blacksmith against him.”

Manohar said on phone, “Oblesh who is no more had warned me long back. If I had listened to him and finished that fellow while he was young, this problem would not have arisen.”

Shivaram said seriously, “Yes. He should be finished during or after this election otherwise we have no life.’
