CM phoned to Shivaram. “First you hand over your brother and resign. Do you know that the whole State is boiling? If you don’t do it immediately, I will dismiss you.”

CM dismissed Shivaram. Police entered Shivaram’s house in capital and caught Venkatraidu.

The body of Krishnappa was burnt on the funeral pyre. Shivayya and his men attended the funeral.

Shivayya set up a watchdog committee in every Panchayat. Educated youth and experienced farmers and ladies were made members of the committee. If any villager wanted to get any job done through the Panchayat office, he had to hand over a Xerox copy of the application form to the Watch dog office. The members of the committee will see to it that the work was done quickly.

If anyone asked for bribe and the Watch dog office came to know of it, immediate action was taken against the person.

Because of this, all jobs started getting done immediately and efficiently. Shivayya became famous in the whole State.

People of other jillas started inviting him to their jillas to implement the same policies.

CM and party tried their best to get Shivayya into their party. But Shivayya was not interested.

Shivaram, who lost his job, was sitting in Naga’s house.

Shivaram looked at Naga and said, “That fellow has made me ex-minister and put my brother in jail.”

Naga said angrily, “Since last 25 years this jilla was in our control. He made me lose my deposit in the Panchayat election.”

Manohar was looking somewhere.

Naga looked at Manohar. “What are you thinking? CM is trying to put that Shivayya into the party with red carpet. If he enters, you will definitely become ex-minister. We will not become even MLA.”

Manohar shook his head. “True. I know everything. His roots have gone very deep. We can’t pull them out. We have to cut down the tree itself.”

Naga became serious. “I am ready to cut him down.”

“No. Not you. I am not ready to lose you. We will send Rudraiah.”

Naga had a plan. “Shivayya is going to one marriage. When he returns, we will catch him in the forest area. I will also go with Rudraiah.”

Manohar nodded. “As you wish. But we want his head.”
